- Overview: MECHANICAL IMPEDANCE ANALYSIS FLAW DETECTOR Is intended for detection of laminations, discontinuities, defects of lack-of-adhesion type and other continuity faults in multi-layer polymeric composite materials (PCM).
DAMI-C09
The Bond Tester “DAMI” is a multi-functional, special-purpose device, enabling to detect and visualize defects within composite materials, such as disbonds of honeycomb material and structure cores. The device also enables to detect corrosion within various aircraft constructions (including the chassis and disks). NDT techniques: impedance, eddy-current and impact testing methods. While activating the eddy-current testing application of “DAMI”, the corrosions on aback sides of duralumin and aluminum sheets are detected, the current-conducting material properties are checked
While activating the impedance testing application of “DAMI”, disbonds, delaminations, density anomalies of composite and honeycomb materials and structures are detected
While using the “DAMI”, the following defects can be detected:
- disbonds within inner walls manufactured from four-layer plastics (fiberglass materials) while the core thickness varies from 2.7 to 3.0 mm;
- disbonds at a great depth of metal alloys, coal plastics, glassfiber laminates, metal sheets;
- greasing between the skin and honeycomb core of the helicopter blade;
- disbonds between the structural parts;
- water within the composite structures.
To determine the probe position on the test object, the coordinate device (scanner) “Slider M2” is used
